JSRI operates under a full open access model—authors do not incur any fees at any stage of the publishing process:

The journal does not charge for access to its content, as declared on the homepage. All editorial costs are covered by the publisher’s statutory funds and grants for science dissemination.
If any author charges are introduced in the future, this information will be announced on the journal website before submission and will not apply retroactively to manuscripts already submitted. Author charges, if ever introduced, will not influence editorial decisions.
