Code of Conduct
The Journal of Sports Research and Innovation (JSRI) is committed to fostering an environment of integrity, respect, and professionalism in all aspects of its operations. As a member of the JSRI community, including authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff, you are expected to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
1. Integrity and Ethical Conduct:
a. Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct in all research activities and scholarly communications.
b. Ensure that research findings are reported accurately, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
c. Adhere to relevant ethical guidelines and regulations, including obtaining necessary permissions and approvals for research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data.
2. Respect and Professionalism:
a. Treat all individuals with respect, fairness, and professionalism, regardless of their role, position, or background.
b. Engage in constructive and respectful communication with colleagues, authors, reviewers, and editorial staff, even in cases of disagreement or criticism.
c. Avoid discriminatory, derogatory, or offensive language or behavior based on factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability.
3. Confidentiality and Privacy:
a. Respect the confidentiality of the peer review process, including manuscripts under review, reviewer identities, and any confidential communications related to the editorial process.
b. Safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of individuals involved in research, including research participants and colleagues, and ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
4. Conflict of Interest Disclosure:
a. Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could reasonably be perceived as influencing your research, scholarly activities, or editorial decisions.
b. Refrain from engaging in activities or relationships that could compromise your objectivity, independence, or impartiality in research or editorial decision-making.
5. Compliance with Policies and Guidelines:
a. Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the policies, guidelines, and instructions provided by JSRI for authors, reviewers, and editors.
b. Comply with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and attribution requirements when using third-party materials or data in your research or publications.
6. Reporting and Resolution of Concerns:
a. Report any suspected violations of this Code of Conduct or unethical behavior to the JSRI editorial office promptly.
b. Cooperate with investigations into alleged misconduct or breaches of ethical standards, providing truthful and complete information as required.
7. Continuous Improvement and Accountability:
a. Commit to continuous improvement in research practices, scholarly communication, and editorial processes, seeking to enhance the quality, transparency, and impact of scientific research.
b. Hold yourself and others accountable for upholding the principles and values outlined in this Code of Conduct, promoting a culture of integrity and excellence within the JSRI community.
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, you contribute to the maintenance of a scholarly and professional environment conducive to the advancement of scientific research and innovation.
