Statement on the Submission of Appeals

The Journal of Sports Research and Innovation (JSRI) values the integrity and quality of the research it publishes. In line with our commitment to transparency and fairness, we provide a formal process for authors to submit appeals regarding editorial decisions.

Authors who wish to appeal a decision made by the editorial team must adhere to the following process:

  1. Grounds for Appeal: Appeals must be based on substantial grounds such as procedural errors, factual inaccuracies, or evidence of bias in the editorial decision-making process. Appeals solely disagreeing with the outcome without providing substantive reasons will not be considered.
  2. Submission of Appeal: Authors should submit their appeal in writing via email to the editorial office within 30 days of receiving the decision notification. The appeal should clearly outline the reasons for the disagreement with the decision and provide any supporting documentation or evidence.
  3. Editorial Review: Upon receipt of the appeal, the editorial office will review the submission to ensure it meets the grounds for appeal criteria. If the appeal is deemed valid, the Editor-in-Chief will appoint an independent and unbiased panel of experts to reassess the manuscript and the editorial decision.
  4. Panel Evaluation: The appointed panel will thoroughly examine the manuscript, the original reviews, and any additional materials provided by the authors. They will assess the grounds of the appeal and make a recommendation to uphold or overturn the original decision.
  5. Decision Outcome: Following the panel’s evaluation, the Editor-in-Chief will communicate the outcome of the appeal to the authors. This decision will be final and binding.
  6. Confidentiality: All information related to the appeal process will be treated confidentially, and the identities of the authors, reviewers, and panel members will remain anonymous throughout the process.
  7. Fairness and Impartiality: The JSRI editorial team is committed to ensuring a fair and impartial appeals process. Any conflicts of interest will be disclosed and addressed appropriately to maintain the integrity of the review process.

We encourage authors to engage constructively in the appeal process and provide relevant and substantive information to facilitate a fair and thorough evaluation of their appeal.

For inquiries or to initiate an appeal, please contact the editorial office at [email address].

Note: The JSRI reserves the right to amend this process at any time to enhance efficiency and fairness.
